Tie-dye is back

Writer: Alan AguilarAlan Aguilar

Trends in fashion are cyclical and I can completely tell how this trend is back to popularity.

The 60's and 70's are back and they plan to stay for a while. Whether you do it yourself or buy it from almost all clothing stores, this not-so-new trend is coming strong.

I've seen a lot of appearances lately in the fashion world, but I believe this trend is still not quite yet to its peak.

It is becoming very popular and I can see more brands coming strong with different proposals for this trend.

That is one thing I like the most about vintage trends that come back: they come with the sense of the original but with a futuristic approach.

So don't hesitate to search next time you're on your favorite clothing store online or if you feel adventurous, try creating your own statement.

Sure, people have had more time at home to be creative due to the pandemic, but I noticed some tie-dyed inspired looks back in February when Kim Kardashian West wore this vintage Jean Paul Gaultier on one of her famous trips to Paris.

The idea is basically the same; these looks are haute couture archive pieces from 1995 (wow, the year I was born). I can see how these celebrities started influencing brands to come back with the dyed idea for our current trend. Without a doubt, the Kardashian-Jenner clan are still a big impact on fashion and trends nowadays and I am not mad about it.

I just love to see how one look can inspire the whole industry to bring back a trend and become a huge thing. At least in my perspective that is how I see it.
